On March 1st, registrations will open for the international regularity event dedicated to the great “Grande Tazio Nuvolari”
Milan, 26th February 2026 - Registrations will officially open for the 36th edition of the Gran Premio Nuvolari, the iconic international regularity race reserved for historic cars, scheduled to take place from 17th to 20th September 2026.Competitors will take center stage in a challenge defined by 100 timed trials and 10 average-speed tests, set against some of Italy’s most evocative roads: historic piazzas, timeless villages and landscapes of extraordinary beauty. For more than thirty years, the mission has remained unchanged: to create an exclusive and refined event for drivers and enthusiasts, worthy of the legend who shaped the history of world motorsport, Tazio Nuvolari.

From 17th to 20th September 2026, 300 crews from around the world will tackle a three-leg route covering approximately 1,100 kilometers, crossing some of the most celebrated and iconic landscapes of Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Umbria, Marche and the Republic of San Marino.

Created and organized since 1991 by Mantova Corse, the event will be held in compliance with the regulations of the FIA, FIVA and ACI Sport, with particular attention to the safety protocols of the national sporting federation.

The longstanding partnership with Red Bull, Gruppo Finservice and Morbio Costruzioni has been confirmed. Thanks to their support, the Gran Premio Nuvolari will once again offer participants an adrenaline-fueled and unforgettable experience, seamlessly blending the pleasure of driving through remarkable settings with top-tier sporting competition.

The 2026 Programme

The route of the Gran Premio Nuvolari represents an authentic celebration of Italian excellence.

Thursday, 17th September – The 300 crews will gather in Mantova. Within the enchanting setting of Palazzo Te, administrative checks for drivers and scrutineering of the vehicles will take place. In the evening, the traditional Welcome Dinner will be held in Piazza delle Erbe, in the historic city center.

Friday, 18th September – As tradition dictates, the race will start from Piazza Sordello, the historic heart of the Lombard city. The vehicles will cross the Po Valley, with an initial control in Piazza dei Martiri in Carpi, before tackling the Apennines en route to the Mugello Circuit. The race will continue across the Tuscan-Romagnolo hills to the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, then head toward the Adriatic coast with arrival in Cesenatico, where the first evening event will take place at the Grand Hotel da Vinci. Overnight stay in Rimini.

Saturday, 19th September – The second leg will wind from Rimini through Marche and Umbria, featuring routes through Sant’Angelo in Vado and Città di Castello, reaching the Magione Circuit in Umbria region. A break is scheduled at the Lamborghini Golf Club, followed by transit through Cortona and arrival in Arezzo. In the afternoon, crews will drive through Tuscany via Sansepolcro and the Passo di Viamaggio The Republic of San Marino will welcome the rally with the final set of timed trials of the day and a stamp control in Piazza della Libertà, at the summit of Mount Titano. The leg will conclude in Rimini, first with a parade in Piazza Tre Martiri and then at Parco Fellini, where the cars will be parked overnight. The traditional Gala Dinner in honor of Tazio Nuvolari will take place in the magnificent, Fellini-inspired setting of the Grand Hotel Rimini.

Sunday, 20th September – Crews will head north for the decisive final challenges. Departing from Rimini, they will face the demanding timed tests of Meldola, followed by the city circuits of Forlì and Lugo di Romagna. In the oval of Piazza Ariostea, the Power Stage timed trials will be contested, while Castello Estense will host the time control reserved by the City of Ferrara. The race will then return to Mantova. Lunch, set within the millenary Abbazia di San Benedetto in Polirone, will mark the final act before the triumphant finish in Mantova’s Piazza Sordello.

Applications must be submitted exclusively through our website www.gpnuvolari.it from March 1st to July 31st 2026.Eligible vehicles for the 36th Gran Premio Nuvolari include historic vehicles manufactured between 1919 and 1946 Pre-War division, 1947 and 1976 “Classic“ division and 1977 and 2000 “Youngtimer“ division, as well as 35 modern GT supercars built between 2001 and 2026 “Gran Turismo “.
