The organization of the international regularity event in honour of Tazio Nuvolari is underway
05/11/2026
Milan, 11 May 2026 - The organizational machine for the 36th Gran Premio Nuvolari, the international regularity event for historic cars scheduled from September 17 to 20, 2026, is well underway. Following its presentation tour in Latin America, aimed at drivers, the press, and motorsport enthusiasts, the organizers are already working to ensure a spectacular edition full of new features. The new itinerary promises breathtaking landscapes and extraordinary scenery.
The 300 crews from all over the world will tackle a three-stage route, covering a total of 1,100 km, crossing some of the most beautiful and iconic areas of Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Marche, Umbria, and the Republic of San Marino.
Participants will face a series of time trials and average-speed tests along some of Italy’s most scenic roads, creating an exclusive and elegant event for drivers and enthusiasts, in honour of the legend who made motorsport history worldwide: Tazio Nuvolari.
During the event days, the roads and squares crossed by the Gran Premio will come alive with the presence of authentic jewels from the past. True travelling testimonies of the refined industrial culture of the 20th century, these cars will parade along the route, offering a unique spectacle to car lovers and casual spectators alike.
Founded in 1991 and organized by Mantova Corse, the event will take place in compliance with F.I.A., F.I.V.A. and A.C.I. Sport regulations, with particular attention to the safety protocols of the National Sports Federation.
The presence of historic partners Red Bull, Gruppo Finservice, and Morbio Costruzioni has been confirmed: thanks to their support, the Gran Premio Nuvolari will offer participants an adrenaline-filled and unforgettable experience, combining the pleasure of driving through places of great beauty with a top-level sporting competition.
The 36th Gran Premio Nuvolari will also enjoy the patronage of the Lombardy Region, the Cities of Mantova, Rimini, Arezzo, Forlì, and Ferrara, the Ministries of Tourism and Sport of the Republic of San Marino, and the Foundation of the Cassa di Risparmio di Carpi.
2026 Program
Thursday, September 17th
The crews will gather in Mantova. In the enchanting setting of Palazzo Te, administrative checks for drivers and technical scrutineering of the cars will take place. In the evening, the traditional welcome dinner in Piazza Erbe, in the historic city centre.
Friday, September 18th
As tradition dictates, the start will be given from the historic Piazza Sordello, the heart of the Lombard city. The cars will cross the roads of the Po Valley, with a first-time control in Piazza dei Martiri in Carpi, then the Apennines up to the Mugello Circuit. The route will continue through the Tuscan-Romagna hills to the Imola Circuit, then towards the Adriatic Sea, arriving in Cesenatico, where the first evocative evening will take place at the Grand Hotel da Vinci. Overnight stay in Rimini.
Saturday, September 19th
The second stage will see the route unfolding from Rimini towards Marche and Umbria. Scheduled passages include Sant’Angelo in Vado, Città di Castello, up to the Magione Circuit, a break at the Lamborghini Golf Club in Panicale, transit through Cortona, and arrival in Arezzo. In the afternoon, the crews will travel through Tuscany, passing Sansepolcro and continuing towards the Viamaggio Pass. The Republic of San Marino will welcome the event with the final time trials of the day and the time control in Piazza della Libertà, at the summit of Monte Titano. The second stage finish will be in Rimini, with a parade through Piazza Tre Martiri and then Parco Fellini, where the cars will remain overnight. In the evening, the traditional Gala Dinner in honour of Tazio Nuvolari, in the splendid Fellinian setting of the Grand Hotel Rimini.
Sunday, September 20th
The crews will head north. The route will include the final challenges that will determine the overall winner. Starting from Rimini, they will face the demanding time trials of Meldola, then the city circuits of Forlì and Lugo di Romagna. In the oval of Piazza Ariostea, the Power Stage time trials will be held, and the Estense Castle will host the time control reserved for competitors in Ferrara. The return to Mantova will follow. Lunch, in the historic setting of the thousand-year-old Abbey of San Benedetto Po, will mark the final moment before the triumphant arrival in Mantova, inside the welcoming Piazza Sordello.
Gran Premio Nuvolari Green
The Gran Premio Nuvolari has long demonstrated a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, pursuing for years a path aimed at protecting people and the territory. The first initiative, “Gran Premio Nuvolari Green,” was launched in 2020 and included tree planting to offset the CO₂ emissions produced by historic cars.
Further actions have also been implemented to reduce the use of plastic bottles: each crew, the entire organizational staff, and media representatives will be provided with eco-friendly Tritan water bottles. During the start procedures in Mantova and Rimini, drinking water dispensers will be available for all participants.
