Essen (Germany), April 3, 2017 - This year Scuderia Mantova Corse, together with Automobile Club Mantova and Museo Tazio Nuvolari, will attend in Germany with its own booth the "Techno Classica Essen" (Halle 7 - Stand 616) to present to the public and the international press the 2017 edition of the Gran Premio Nuvolari.
Techno Classica will be open from Wednesday 5th to Sunday, April 9th; with its 200 thousand guests, it is the most popular worldwide showcase of motoring history.

The charm of the Gran Premio Nuvolari

The 27th edition of Gran Premio Nuvolari, a regularity event for historic cars, will take place from September 14th to 17th, according to the ACI Sport, FIA and FIVA regulations. With the confirmed presence of Audi as Main Partner, Eberhard & Co. And Banca Generali as Official Partners, it will be one of the most awaited events of the international regularity season.
The world of historic cars will meet in Mantua to celebrate the figure of Tazio Nuvolari: an athlete that more than any other has marked the history of the twentieth century.

Our future was written in the past

This year Audi celebrates 20 years of partnership with Gran Premio Nuvolari. A real record for longevity for sports sponsorships.
The one between the four rings brand and the Gran Premio is a bond with deep roots: the car that brought the legendary Tazio Nuvolari to the victory at Donington Park Circuit, the Gran Premio d‘Italia and Yugoslavia was an Auto Union, the historical Audi name.
The engineers of that time designed the Type D - V12, a racing car equipped with a compressor with two stages, with an output of 485 hp. It was 1939 and even then it was clear that the advanced technology could make a difference.
Since then, Audi has never stopped pursuing even more ambitious goals, to achieve excellence. One example is the legendary four-wheel drive, which over the years has reached surprising levels of technological evolution, as well as the successes achieved in racing with Audi Sport brand.
A long time has passed since it all began, but the spirit of Audi remained the same: that of someone who does not flinch in the face of a challenge, facing it with class and extraordinary performance. The same with which competed Tazio Nuvolari.

The route 2017

Palazzo Ducale will be the background the 2017 edition, which will starts on Friday, 15th September at 11 am from Piazza Sordello in Mantua center. The 250 crews from around the world will travel the first kilometers out of the total 1,000 route facing the Te circuit, always in Mantua, and then the Autodromo di Modena. In the afternoon, after the break at Villa Verganti in Formigine, you will see the cars involved in the streets along the Apennines of Emilia Romagna and down to the Adriatic, with the transit from Faenza, Forlì and Cesena, to finally come to Cesenatico where you the participants will attend the first evening in the prestigious location of the Hotel Leonardo da Vinci. Overnight on the Riviera, in the friendliest hotel in Rimini.
Saturday 16th, the second stage, will be the most intense day of the Gran Premio Nuvolari: after the restart from Rimini, the participants will immediately stop the Autodromo Marco Simoncelli Misano Adriatico. Then they will transit to the historic towns of Urbino, Citta di Castello and Arezzo, to the traditional embrace fans in Piazza del Campo, one of the most famous squares in Italy. Then the break in Borgo Scopeto, among cypress trees in the Tuscan hill. It will be a fascinating journey, but with strict time trials between Romagna, Tuscany and Marche, to the finish, scheduled for 18:30, in Piazza Tre Martiri in Rimini. The participants will be hosted in the fascinating rooms of the Grand Hotel of Rimini, where they will take part in the official gala dinner in honour of Tazio Nuvolari.
On Sunday morning, 17th September, the crews will take the way back to Mantua. They will face the latest chrono trials, perhaps decisive to determine the winner: from Rimini to Cesena up to Meldola. The passages in Ferrara at the Circuito del Castello precede those in Borgofranco sul Po, the mantuan land of truffles, then Ostiglia, original land of Cornelio Nepote, and Castel d'Ario, the birthplace of the "Great Nivola". Then the arrival, at the conclusion of 1000 km, with the public greeting in Piazza Sordello, in the historic center of Mantova.

Requirements and terms for registration

Applications for registration, which will be open until 31^st July, shall be filed exclusively on the website www.gpnuvolari.it. Registration to the Gran Premio Nuvolari is only allowed to cars manufactured between 1919 and 1972 that have a F.I.V.A. passport, a F.I.A. Heritage fiche, an A.S.I. type-approval, or an ACI Sport /C.S.A.I. fiche, or belong to a Car Brand Register.
