MANTOVA, 13th July 2020 – The engines are warming up for the 30th edition of the Gran Premio Nuvolari, the international regularity event for historic cars organized according to the F.I.A., F.I.V.A. and A.C.I. Sport regulations, open to cars built until 1976, which will take place from 17th to 20th September 2020. An important sign of a restart for the entire historical automotive sector after the difficult period marked by the Coronavirus pandemic. In this sense, the organization will adopt specific protocols to ensure the safety of all participants and a smooth running of the event.
For this special edition, which celebrates an important collective milestone, for the Organizers, for the city of Mantua and for all fans, the Scuderia Mantova Corse team announces a new partnership with TAG Heuer, excellence of the Swiss watch industry, traditionally engaged in motorsport. The prestigious Maison, which has embodied the avant-garde, precision and bold style that have marked the history of watchmaking since 1860, will be the "Official Timekeeper Partner" of the Gran Premio Nuvolari.
In the celebrative event of the “Great Nivola”, the pilot who more than any other has marked the history of the twentieth century, TAG Heuer will support the already consolidated partners: Red Bull, "Special Partner" – the energy drink par excellence, and Gruppo Finservice, "Official Partner” – leader in the subsidized finance sector.
Considering the peculiarity of this 2020 edition, the adhesions of the participants from Italy and abroad are not long in coming. The desire to take part into one of the most beautiful races in the world and to drive along the streets of the "Bel Paese", enjoying the beauties of the wonderful Italian territory and the warmth of its passionate car enthusiasts is evidently strong.
A great news of this year will be the "GP Nuvolari Green" initiative, thanks to which Mantova Corse will adopt a conscious approach in the field of environmental protection and sustainability, committing itself to the planting of tall trees in selected areas of the city of Mantova, in order to compensate and eliminate the total CO2 emissions of the race produced by the circulation of the historic cars.
The route 2020 The Gran Premio Nuvolari will take place this year along its most classic and appreciated route: Mantova-Rimini-Siena-Rimini-Mantova.
On Friday 18th September, the parade of the historic cars will start from Piazza Sordello in Mantua and will cross the suggestive roads of Emilia Romagna, to stop at the Autodrome in Modena for the timed trials and for lunch break. Then it will continue the descent towards the Adriatic: the first evening will take place in Cesenatico in the prestigious location of the Grand Hotel Leonardo da Vinci. The night hospitality in Rimini will follow.
Saturday 19th of September, the second stage, will be the most intense day of the Gran Premio Nuvolari: after the departure from Rimini, the competitors will drive along the Adriatic Road, passing through the Viamaggio Pass. Then, they will follow through the Florentine countryside and the Chianti hills, finally arriving in Siena for the usual parade show in Piazza del Campo, one of the most representative squares of the Peninsula. After the break under the cypresses of Borgo Scopeto, the caravan will continue to Piazza Grande, in the heart of Arezzo. In the late afternoon, the crews will drive along the panoramic streets of Marche, touching Urbino and reaching Rimini, where they will conclude the second stage on the strip of Piazza Tre Martiri. The Gala Dinner in honor of Tazio Nuvolari will be held as usual in the unique setting of the Grand Hotel of Rimini, that this year celebrates the Centenary of Fellini's birth.
On Sunday 20th September in the morning, the crews will head back to Mantua, but first they will face the last challenges, perhaps the most crucial ones to determine the winner of the 30th edition of the race. Starting from Rimini, they will face the special timed tests of Meldola, and later they will pass through Faenza, as guests of the Alpha Tauri Racing Team, and through Ferrara, where they will be welcomed with enthusiasm in Piazza Ariostea. After 1.093 km, the return to Mantua, through Borgofranco and Ostiglia. It will take place in time for the farewell lunch, organized within the walls of Palazzo Ducale.
Mantova Corse gives appointment to all the enthusiasts to celebrate together the greatest driver of all time.

Requirements and terms of registration The entry requests must be submitted exclusively through the website www.gpnuvolari.it. The registration period will remain open until July 31st. The Gran Premio Nuvolari accepts cars manufactured from the origins to 1976, equipped with FIVA passport, or fiche FIA Heritage, or ASI approval, or fiche ACI Sport/ACI Storico, or belonging to a Brand Historical Register. In the unfortunate case that the event is cancelled due to reasons of force majeure, the registration fees will be refunded to the participants.
