In his 30-year-long career (from 1920 to 1950) Nuvolari was European Motorbike Champion riding a Bianchi motorbike (1925), European Racing Champion (the current Formula 1 World Championship) driving an Alfa Romeo in 1932, a winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1933 and of the Mille Miglia in 1930 and 1933. Besides the various titles he won, Nuvolari is famous for his almost incredible endeavours which helped the "Flying Mantuan" to enter the collective imagination and become a member of the
Motor Sport Magazine Hall of Fame,
the most exclusive club of distinguished pilots selected by the English magazine Motor Sport. Together with the great Formula 1 pilots such as Fangio, Moss, Clark, Stewart, Senna and the seven-time unbeaten champion Schumacher, Nuvolari is the only driver of the Grand Prix times who actively took part in it.

Friday 16th September - departure day - Mantova to Forte dei Marmi
