C.S. 3 - The international regularity event in honor of Tazio Nuvolari gets underway
05/05/2025
Milan, May 5, 2025 - The organizational machine of the
35th edition of the Gran Premio Nuvolari, the international regularity event reserved for historic cars
, is operating at full capacity. Scheduled from September 18 to 21, 2025, the event has been held annually since 1991 to pay tribute to the legendary Tazio, the greatest driver of all time. The 2025 edition promises to be
unique, spectacular, and full of new features
. It will follow a new route through breathtaking landscapes and some of Italy’s most beautiful and historic squares.
The 300 teams from all over the world will tackle a
three-stage route
covering a total of
1,100 km
, passing through the most enchanting landscapes of Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Marche, Umbria, and the Republic of San Marino.
Considered
one of the most anticipated events of the season
, the Gran Premio will allow classic car enthusiasts to experience and share unique emotions, all in celebration of the legend of the Mantuan driver, an icon of motorsport.
During the event, the streets and squares along the route will come alive with the presence of the “old ladies” - rolling witnesses of 20th-century industrial elegance - on display for the enjoyment of enthusiasts and onlookers alike.
Organized since 1991 by
Mantova Corse
, the event complies with the regulations of F.I.A., F.I.V.A., and A.C.I. Sport, with special attention to the safety protocols of the National Sports Federation.
The event’s official partners -
Red Bull, Finservice Group, Morbio Costruzioni, Penske Cars, Zero Time, and MC Stone
with
Cognizant
supplements - will help make the Gran Premio Nuvolari a truly unforgettable experience, blending the joy of driving through unique locations with the thrill of top-level motorsport competition.
The 2025 route
Friday, September 19th
, as tradition dictates, the 300 crews will start from the historic Piazza Sordello in the heart of Mantua. They will cross the Po Valley, with time checks in Suzzara, Reggiolo, and Campagnola Emilia, reaching the
Modena Autodrome
. The route continues through the Emilia-Romagna hills toward the Adriatic Sea, featuring a city circuit in Forlì and arrival in Cesenatico, where the first evening event will be held at the Grand Hotel Da Vinci. Overnight stay in Rimini.
Saturday, September 20th
, the second stage, leads from Rimini through Tuscany, Umbria, and the Marche regions. The route includes Sant’Angelo in Vado, Sansepolcro, Monte San Savino, and Piazza del Campo in Siena, with a break in Borgo Scopeto among the “tall and proud” cypress trees of the Sienese hills. In the afternoon, the crews will traverse the Chianti region, pass over the Buriano bridge - immortalized by Leonardo da Vinci in his masterpiece, the Mona Lisa - and tackle tests in Pieve Santo Stefano heading toward the Viamaggio Pass. The Republic of San Marino will host the final time trials of the day and a time check in Piazza della Libertà, atop Mount Titano. The second stage concludes in Rimini, with a showcase in Piazza Tre Martiri followed by a passage at Parco Fellini where the cars will stop for the night. The evening will feature the traditional Gala Dinner in honor of Tazio Nuvolari at the iconic Grand Hotel Rimini.
Sunday, September 21st
the crews will head north. The route will present the final decisive challenges to determine the overall winner. From Rimini, they’ll face the dreaded timed tests in
Meldola
, then pass through Faenza, guests of the
Formula 1 “Racing Bulls” team
. Ferrara will host a time check at the Estense Castle, followed by the “Power Stage” in Piazza Ariostea - a live broadcast show trial. The return to Mantuan territory includes time checks at Poggio Rusco, San Giacomo delle Segnate, and Bondanello. Lunch at the Abbey of Polirone in San Benedetto Po will be the final act before the triumphant finish in Mantua, within the welcoming walls of Piazza Sordello.
Gran Premio Nuvolari Green
The organization of the Gran Premio Nuvolari has always been attentive to environmental sustainability, undertaking efforts for the protection of people and the territory. The first " Gran Premio Nuvolari Green" initiative was launched in 2020, involving tree planting to offset CO₂ emissions from the historic cars. Another initiative aims to reduce plastic bottle usage: all teams, organizational staff, and media will be given eco-friendly Tritan water bottles. During stage departures in Mantua and Rimini, water dispensers will be provided for all participants.
