C.S. 4 - Preparations in full swing for the international event honoring Tazio Nuvolari. September (18th)-19th-20th-21st, 2025
06/10/2025
Recognized as
one of the most important events of the vintage motorsport season, the Gran Premio Nuvolari
is currently in full preparation. This international regularity race
for historic cars
, now in its
35th edition
, will take place from
September 18th to 21st, 2025
, starting from the center of
Mantua
, the hometown of legendary driver
Tazio Nuvolari
.
The event recently received the prestigious
“Spirit of F.I.V.A. – World Motoring Heritage”
award from the
Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens
, which selects the ten best historic motoring events worldwide each year. This recognition has inspired the organizers to make the 2025 edition even more special. One of the main new features this year is a
refreshed route
that will lead participants through some of the most beautiful regions of Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Marche, Umbria, and the Republic of San Marino.
Over three race days, around
250 to 300 crews
from all five continents will take part in the event, covering a total of
1,075 km
.
Throughout the Gran Premio Nuvolari,
iconic historic cars
–
masterpieces of 20th-century automotive engineering
– will pay tribute to Nuvolari, showcasing some of the most legendary models in motor racing history. The event offers a truly unique experience that combines sporting spirit with the pleasure of discovering unique destinations. The goal is to promote a new concept of
lifestyle tourism
, closely tied to the world of motors and collecting.
As tradition dictates,
Mantova Corse
has carefully selected exclusive hotels and hospitality venues for each leg of the journey, ensuring participants enjoy unforgettable days both on and off the road.
The first Gran Premio Nuvolari took place in 1991, marking the 100th anniversary of Nuvolari’s birth. This year, the
35th edition
will welcome teams from around the world, all driven by a shared passion: to honor the greatest racing driver of all time. The event will comply with the regulations of
F.I.A., F.I.V.A.,
and
A.C.I. Sport
, with particular attention to the safety protocols of the national sports federation.
Once again, the event is supported by key partners including
Red Bull, Finservice Group, Morbio Costruzioni, Penske Cars, Locman, Zero Time,
and
MC Stone
, with its supplement
Cognizant
. Their support ensures that the Gran Premio Nuvolari will offer a thrilling driving and racing experience at the highest level.
The 2025 Route
Friday, September 19th
As always, the 300 crews will start from the historic Piazza Sordello, the heart of Mantua. They will travel across the Po Valley, with stamp checks at the Iveco plant in Suzzara, Reggiolo, and Campagnola Emilia, reaching the
Modena racetrack
. The route will then continue through the rolling hills of Emilia-Romagna towards the Adriatic coast, passing through the city circuit of Forlì, and ending the day in Cesenatico, with an evening event at the Grand Hotel da Vinci. Overnight stay in Rimini.
Saturday, September 20th
On day two, the route will lead from Rimini into Tuscany, Umbria, and Marche. Crews will pass through Sant’Angelo in Vado, Sansepolcro, Monte San Savino, and Piazza del Campo in Siena, with a break at Borgo Scopeto, surrounded by the iconic cypress trees of the Sienese hills. In the afternoon, they will drive through the Chianti region, cross the Ponte a Buriano – featured in Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” – then continue through Pieve Santo Stefano and the Viamaggio Pass. The Republic of San Marino will host the final timed trials of the day, with a stamp check in Piazza della Libertà, at the summit of Mount Titano. The stage ends back in Rimini, with a parade through Piazza Tre Martiri and an overnight stop at Parco Fellini. The evening will feature the traditional Gala Dinner in honor of Tazio Nuvolari, held at the iconic Grand Hotel Rimini.
Sunday, September 21st
The final leg takes the teams northward. After the challenging trials in
Meldola
, crews will pass through Faenza, with a stop at the
Racing Bulls Formula 1 team headquarters
. In Ferrara, a time check will take place at the Estense Castle, followed by the spectacular “Power Stage” in Piazza Ariostea, broadcast live on television. The return to Mantua will pass through stamp checks in Poggio Rusco, San Giacomo delle Segnate, and Bondanello. The final lunch at the Abbey of Polirone in San Benedetto Po will precede the grand arrival in Piazza Sordello, Mantua.
Gran Premio Nuvolari Green
The organization has long been committed to environmental sustainability. In 2020, the Gran Premio Nuvolari Green initiative was launched, with the planting of trees to offset CO₂ emissions from the participating cars. Additionally, to reduce the use of plastic, all crews, staff, and media will receive eco-friendly Tritan water bottles. Water stations will be set up at the starting points in Mantua and Rimini for use by all participants.
