It was the 9th June 1933 when Nuvolari ran for the first time with a Maserati. He won, through the Belgian hills, on the well-known and hard circuit of Spa-Francorchamps. His car was a Tipo 8CM, 8-cylinder, and 750 kg of weight.

This was the beginning of a bond that was meant to last over time and to produce many other important and celebrated victories such as the Coppa Ciano and the Gran Prix de Nice in 1993, the Circuito di Modena and the Coppa Principessa di Piemonte in Naples in 1934 and the Gran Prix d’Alby in 1946.

This year Maserati will be the “Main Partner” of the Gran Premio Nuolari. The classic charm of the company will join the fame of the greatest pilot of all time. Tazio Nuvolari was and still is the testimonial of the historical brands of the FCA Group. In his very long career “Nivola” ran and won with OM, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Ferrari, Fiat, Abart-Cisitalia and of course with Maserati.

The long hot summer that precedes the Gran Premio Nuvolari 2018 is under way. In fact, a lot of entry forms for the 28th modern edition of the event are coming from all parts of Italy, Europe and of the world.

The Gran Premio Nuvolari, the classic regularity event reserved to historical cars built from 1919 to 1972, is organised by Mantova Corse with Automobile Club Mantova and Museo Tazio Nuvolari and will take place in accordance to the FIA, FIVA and ACI Sport regulations.

The event dedicated to Nuvolari is the second race of “EpocaChampionship”, the Italian Championship of Great Events by Aci Sport, to which also belong the “Coppa d’Oro delle Dolomiti” (19-22 July 2018), the Targa Florio (04-07 October) and the Coppa delle Alpi by 1000 Miglia (04-09 December 2018).

Apart from Maserati, the noble partnership with Red Bull, Banca Generali and Eberhard &Co - the latter being the “Official Timekeeper” of the event for 28 years - is confirmed.

In order to further invigorate the Gran Premio Nuvolari 2018, it will be organised the Coppa Nuvolari- Maserati Tribute, in which a caravan of wonderful Maserati (1973-2018) will parade next to the historical cars through the Italian roads, greeted by the crowd and by the warm public that characterises the event.

One reason more not to lose a long-waited event, then. The meeting for the start, to which all the car loves are invited, will be in Piazza Sordello in Mantua at 11:00 on Friday, 14th September.

Requirements and dead-lines for applications
The registrations for the Gran Premio Nuvolari, are open from the 1st of March to the 31st July 2018, exclusively on the website www.gpnuvolari.it. The event admits cars built between 1919 and 1972 that have a F.I.V.A. passport, or a F.I.A. Heritage fiche, or a A.S.I. Homologation, or a A.C.I. Sport /C.S.A.I. fiche or that belong to a Brand Historical Register.
