Mantova, 5th July 2018 - Entries for the 28th modern edition of the Gran Premio Nuvolari are coming from all over the world. From 14 to 16 September, the international world of classic cars will converge in Mantua - the town in which the Gran Premio starts and arrives. Cars of timeless charm will come to celebrate the myth of Tazio Nuvolari: the sportsman who more than anyone else has marked the history of the twentieth century.

The rally, open to classic cars built between 1919 and 1972, is organized by Mantova Corse together with Automobile Club Mantova and Museo Tazio Nuvolari, meeting the F.I.A., F.I.V.A. and A.C.I. Sport regulations.

The most technical race in Italy warms its engine and prepares to announce important news.
First of all, a largely renovated route.

From the historic Piazza Sordello, the race will begin at 11 o’clock on Friday 14th September: the crews will start the first stage of the route, crossing the Po Valley and the Apennines, until reaching the Adriatic Coast. The first time trials will be on the Nuvolari Circuit in Mantua, then at the Lavorwash headquarters in Pegognaga, in Crevalcore, on the hills of Emilia Romagna, and in Cesenatico.

The second stage, 500 km long, will be on Saturday 15th September: it will start from Rimini, follow along the gentle slopes of Marche, Tuscany and Umbria, face 50 tests of skill, and enjoy a break between the cypresses of the Sienese landscape for lunch. In the afternoon, the Gran Premio will pass through the historic centers of Siena, Arezzo and Urbino, to end up in Rimini for the traditional “Fellinian” gala at the Grand Hotel.

Sunday, September 16th: the latest stage of the race will include selective time trials in Meldola and Faenza, with Scuderia Toro Rosso, a stamp control in Lugo, in honor of Francesco Baracca, and the final trials in the Ariosteo Circuit in Ferrara. The rally will end in Mantua, the birthplace of Tazio Nuvolari, where the winners will parade on the stage in Piazza Sordello. A journey of 1062 kilometers, in a combination of history, passion, tradition and elegance.

Red Bull does not need any introduction: the famous energy drink brand, also famous for supporting extreme sport events as well as F1, has chosen to stand beside Nuvolari, an absolute legend of an era in which car races were considered the high-risk sport par excellence. Today, the positive myth of Tazio Nuvolari is strong and present: with the Gran Premio, it is revived every year thanks to the numerous enthusiasts who share the emotions of an extraordinary journey on board of masterpieces of history, mechanics and design.

Regarding Eberhard & Co., 131 are the tolls that mark its history. The Swiss watchmaker maison has been partner of the Gran Premio Nuvolari for 28 years. Among the assets of the House are over a century of timeless personality watches, innovative models and the ability to transform myths of the past in cult objects of the present. Eberhard & Co. has been time tracking the Gran Premio Nuvolari since the first re-enactment of 1991, when the "Tazio Nuvolari" line, dedicated to the greatest driver ever existed, was inaugurated.

Banca Generali also confirms its collaboration with the Gran Premio for the sixth consecutive year. "The name of Tazio Nuvolari is sculpted in the collective imagination and represents one of the examples of the Italian excellence thanks to the commitment and dedication that have distinguished his whole career; elements that we have made our own, and that guide us every day in our work in defense of family assets", the Company declares.

Requirements and registrations deadline
The registrations will be open until July 31st and shall exclusively be made on the website www.gpnuvolari.it. The Gran Premio Nuvolari only admits cars built between 1919 and 1972, provided with: a F.I.V.A. Passport, or a Fiche F.I.A. Heritage, or A.S.I. Certification, or Fiche ACI Sport/C.S.A.I., or a Membership to their own Brand Club.
