04/20/2021

Mantova, 15th April 2021 - The organization of Gran Premio Nuvolari 2021 is in full swing, the international regularity event reserved to historic cars organised by Mantova Corse, which for 31 years has paid tribute to the greatest driver of all time, the legendary Tazio Nuvolari. This year we’ll see the realisation of an exclusive event, a real "travelling museum" of vintage cars, with the aim, not only to excite and delight the general public, but also to celebrate the myth of the greatest driver in the history of world driving.

From 16th to 19th September 2021, the crews will face a route in three stages: 1,000 km among the beauties of Central-Northern Italy, crossing evocative landscapes of Lombardy, Emilia Romagna, Marche, Umbria and Tuscany.
The event, organised since 1991 by Mantova Corse, will take place in compliance with F.I.A, F.I.V.A. and A.C.I. Sport regulations, with particular attention to the protocols of the national sports federation.

The sponsor has been confirmed: Red Bull, Tag Heuer and Finservice, thanks to whom the "Nuvolari" will offer the 300 crews coming from the whole world a unique and exciting experience, which intends to merge the pleasure of the most exclusive tourism with sporting competition, to discover fascinating places characterized by a particular allure.

Also, this year GPN Green continues: new greening initiative. The environmental impact in terms of CO2 emissions caused by the circulation of the historic cars participating in the event will be balanced by the planting of tall trees in selected areas of the town of Mantova.

Gran Premio Nuvolari 2021: the route

On Friday 17th September, the spectacle of historic cars will start from Piazza Sordello in Mantua. It will then continue over the Apennines, to the Mugello Circuit, the famous Tuscan Formula 1 racetrack, through Raticosa and Futa passes and then over the hills of Romagna towards the Adriatic, arriving in Cesenatico: the first evening will take place in the prestigious location of Grand Hotel Leonardo da Vinci. An overnight stay in Rimini will follow.

Saturday, September 18th, the second stage, the busiest day of Gran Premio Nuvolari will see a largely renewed route: from Rimini to Urbino, then Bocca Serriola pass, Città di Castello, up to Magione at the Umbria Racetrack, the Trasimeno Lake and the break at Golf Club Lamborghini in Panicale. Stamp controls in Castiglione del Lago, Cortona and Piazza Grande in Arezzo. In the afternoon, the crews will drive along the roads of the Viamaggio towards the Adriatic, with the media tests in Sant'Agata Feltria. The Republic of San Marino will welcome the parade with the last group of time trials of the day and the stamp control in Piazza della Libertà, at the apex of Mount Titano.
The arrival of the second stage will be in Rimini, on the catwalk of Piazza Tre Martiri. The evening will reserve to the competitors the traditional Gala Dinner in honour of Tazio Nuvolari, in the wonderful Fellini-style setting of the Grand Hotel di Rimini.

Starting from Rimini, they will face the feared time trials of Meldola, then Faenza, guests of the Formula 1 team Alpha Tauri. The arena of Piazza Ariostea will be the splendid view that Ferrara will offer to competitors from all over the world. Then it will be time to return to Mantova, through the stamp controls of Bondeno, Poggio Rusco, San Giacomo, Bondanello and the break for lunch in the majestic abbey of San Benedetto Po.
