Press release n° 1 - Registrations are open for the regularity event dedicated to the "Great Tazio"

Mantova, 1 st March 2021 - The Gran Premio Nuvolari 2021 is at the starting blocks, the international regularity event reserved to historic cars organised by Mantova Corse, which for 31 years has paid tribute to the greatest driver of all time, the legendary "Nivola". As per tradition, also this year the organisation will be engaged in the realisation of an exclusive event, a real "travelling museum" of vintage cars with the aim, not only to excite and thrill the general public, but also to celebrate the myth of the greatest driver in the history of world motoring.

From 16 th to 19 th September 2021, the crews will face a route in three stages: 1,000 km among the beauties of Central-Northern Italy, crossing Lombardy, Emilia Romagna, Marche, Umbria and Tuscany.
The event, conceived and organised since 1991 by Mantova Corse, will take place in compliance with F.I.A, F.I.V.A. and A.C.I. Sport regulations, with particular attention to the Covid-19 ministerial protocols and the national sports federation.

The troika of sponsors has been confirmed: Red Bull, Tag Heuer and Finservice, thanks to whom the "Nuvolari" will offer the 300 competitors from the five continents a unique and exciting experience, aimed at combining the pleasure of the most exclusive tourism with sporting competition, discovering suggestive and particularly prestigious places.

The Route of 2021 edition
The route of the Gran Premio Nuvolari represents the synthesis of Italian excellence.

On Friday 17 th September, the parade of historic cars will start from Piazza Sordello in Mantua. It will pass through the picturesque streets of Emilia, until the Modena Circuit: break for lunch and time trials. It will then continue over the Apennines, to the Mugello Circuit, the illustrious Tuscan Formula 1 racetrack, then over the hills of Romagna towards the Adriatic, arriving in Cesenatico: the prestigious location of the Grand Hotel Leonardo da Vinci will held the first evening. An overnight stay in Rimini will follow.

Saturday, September 18 th , the second stage, the most intense day of the Gran Premio Nuvolari will see a largely renewed route: from Rimini to Urbino, then the Bocca Serriola pass, Città di Castello, up to Magione at the Autodromo dell'Umbria, Lake Trasimeno and the break at the Golf Club Lamborghini di Panicale. Stamp controls in Castiglione del Lago, Cortona and Piazza Grande in Arezzo. In the afternoon, the crews will drive along the roads of the Viamaggio towards the Adriatic, with the media tests in Sant'Agata Feltria. The Republic of San Marino will welcome the event with the last group of time trials of the day and the stamp control in Piazza della Libertà, at the apex of Mount Titano.

The arrival of the second stage will be in Rimini, on the catwalk of Piazza Tre Martiri. In the evening, the traditional Gala Dinner in honour of Tazio Nuvolari will treat the competitors, in the wonderful Fellini-style setting of the Grand Hotel di Rimini.

On Sunday 19 th September, the crews will return to Mantua. The route will give them the last challenges, the decisive ones to decide the winner. Starting from Rimini, they will face the dreaded time trials of Meldola, then Faenza, guests of the Formula 1 team Alpha Tauri. The arena of Piazza Ariostea will be the splendid view that Ferrara will offer to competitors from all over the world. Then it will be time to return to Mantua, through the stamp controls of Bondeno, Poggio Rusco, San Giacomo, Bondanello and the break for lunch in the majestic abbey of San Benedetto Po. Then finally, the arrival in Mantua, after 1,000 km, within the welcoming walls of Piazza Sordello.

Entry requirements and deadlines
Entry requests, to be made exclusively on the website www.gpnuvolari.it , may be sent from 1 st March until 31 st July 2021. At the Gran Premio Nuvolari are admitted cars manufactured from 1919 to 1976 with F.I.V.A. passport, or F.I.A. Heritage sticker, or A.S.I. homologation, or ACI Sport /ACI Historic sticker, or certificate of registration at the A.A.V.S. historic register.
