MANTUA, March 1st, 2018 - The registrations for the the 28th modern edition of the Gran Premio Nuvolari open today. It is an international regularity event for historic cars according to F.I.A., F.I.V.A. and ACI Sport regulations, scheduled for September 2018, from 13th to 16th. The formula of the event, organized since the beginning of 1991 by the Scuderia Mantova Corse, will give participants the opportunity to experience the event dedicated to the "Flying Mantuan": time trials played out to the hundredth of a second, medium trials, high level tourism, breath-taking landscapes, and the warm embrace of the thousands of fans gathered in the most famous and historic Italian squares.

With the confirmed presence of Banca Generali, Eberhard & Co. and Red Bull as Official Partners, it will be one of the “must” event of the season. The world of classic cars enthusiasts will converge to Mantova to celebrate the figure of Tazio Nuvolari: the sportsman that, more than anyone else, has marked the history of the XX century.

The route of 2018
The 2018 edition will start after the sport and technical checks, at 11 AM on Friday, September 14th from Piazza Sordello on the background of Palazzo Ducale. The crews will face the first kilometres, out of the total 1050, experiencing the first chrono challenge on the Circuito del Te, always in Mantua, and then the Fiera of Gonzaga. In the afternoon, after the break at Villa Tagliata, Mirandola, the cars will cross the Appennine roads of Emilia Romagna, passing through Pianoro, Brisighella, Predappio and Meldola, and then they will descent towards the Adriatic, until the arrival in Cesenatico, at Grand Hotel Leonardo da Vinci, where the first prestigious dinner will be held. Then, overnight stay on the Riviera, in the hospitable hotels of Rimini.

Saturday 15th, the second stage, will be the most intense day of the Gran Premio Nuvolari: after the departure from Rimini, the competitors will drive along the Marecchiese, and in Sant’Agata Feltria they will face the first chrono challenges. They will transit through the Passo di Viamaggio and Monte San Savino. Then, the embrace with the classic cars enthusiast in Siena, in Piazza del Campo. After the break under the cypress trees of Borgo Scopeto, the cars will pass through the historic towns of Arezzo, Città di Castello, Urbino and the Valico of Bocca Serriola. It will be a journey full of charm, but also of strict time trials between Romagna, Tuscany and Marche, until the finish, scheduled for 18:30, in Piazza Tre Martiri, Rimini . Hosted in the charming rooms of the Grand Hotel Rimini, the participants will experience the grandeur of the twentieth century and participate in the official evening in honour of Tazio Nuvolari.

The next morning, Sunday 16th, the crews will head back to Mantua, but first they will face the last chrono challenges, perhaps the most crucial ones to determine the winner. Starting from Rimini, and passing through Cesena, Meldola, Forlì and Faenza, as Scuderia Toro Rosso’s guests, the race will proceed with a “classic” step: the trials in Ferrara, at Circuito Ariosteo. Lastly, after 1050 kilometres, the cars will cross Borgofranco and Ostiglia, to arrive in Piazza Sordello, at the heart of Mantova, greeted by the enthusiast public.

Terms of enrolment
The entry requests, only on www.gpnuvolari.it website, will remain open until July 31. Gran Premio Nuvolari only accepts cars manufactured from 1919 to 1972 equipped with FIVA passport, or fiche FIA Heritage, ASI or approval, or fiche ACI Sport / CSAI, or Brand Registry membership.
