The organization of the international event dedicated to the great Nivola continues

05/30/2022

In this 2022, which is the 130th anniversary of the Mantuan champion's birth, there will be a special and exclusive edition that will see the world of classic enthusiasts live and bring to life unique emotions, worthy of the legend of  the driver - icon of motor sport.

From 15th to 18th of September 2022, 300 crews from all over the world will travel a fascinating route of 1,100 km,  divided into three stages, traced among the most evocative landscapes of Northern-Central Italy, through Lombardy,  Emilia Romagna, Marche, Tuscany and Veneto.
The event, conceived and organized by Mantova Corse since 1991, will take place in compliance of international  federations F.I.A. and F.I.V.A., with A.C.I. Sport and Historical Aci.

This 32nd edition confirms the partners Red Bull, Tag Heuer and Finservice, together with the return of Banca  Generali, thanks to which the "Nuvolari" will strengthen some of its fundamental characteristics: sports competition,  historical celebration and travelling tourism, discovering suggestive and particularly significant places.

Sensitive to the problems concerning the environmental protection, for the third year the "Gran Premio Nuvolari  Green" initiative will be re-launched, an important greening action, supported by the patronage of the Comune di  Mantova. The environmental impact caused by the circulation of the historic cars participating in the event will be  balanced by the planting, in selected areas, of such a number of tall trees as to equipoise the total emission of CO2.

Gran Premio Nuvolari 2022: The route

The itinerary of Gran Premio Nuvolari Nuvolari represents the synthesis of Italian beauties. It starts with something new: on Thursday 15th of September, after the pre-race checks, it will take place the “Premio Mantova 2022 – Nuvolari 130 Years”, a nighty prologue, a city route of 7,5 km across the streets of city  centre of Mantua. It will be a special greeting to the city of Mantua reserved to the foreigner participants coming  from the five continents.

On Friday 16th of September the historic cars will start from Piazza Sordello, the heart of the Lombard city. We’ll  cross the suggestive streets of Emilia, until coming to Modena Circuit: break for the lunch and timed trials. We’ll  continue then across the Apennines and then to the Imola Circuit, in the famous ”Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari” of Formula 1, finally on the Romagna hills towards the Adriatic Sea with arrival in Cesenatico. The first evening will  open in the wonderful location of the Grand Hotel Da Vinci. Later, the overnight stay in Rimini.

On Saturday 17th of September, the second step, we’ll see a completely new itinerary: from Rimini to Florence,  crossing through Passo La Calla, from Stia, until Passo della Consuma, then the Chianti countryside, the break at  Borgo Scopeto among the tall and narrow cypresses of the Sienese hills. In the afternoon the crews will run across  the streets of Arezzo, with the stamp control of Montevarchi and Pieve Santo Stefano, towards the Viamaggio pass.

The Republic of San Marino will welcome the Gp Nuvolari with the last group of timed trials of the day and the stamp check in Piazza della Libertà, in front of the Government Palace of the oldest Republic in the world. The arrival of the second step will be in Rimini, on the walkway of Piazza Tre Martiri. The evening will reserve to the  participants the traditional Gala Dinner in honour of Tazio Nuvolari, in the wonderful Fellinian setting of the Grand  Hotel di Rimini

On Sunday 18th of September the crews will come back to Mantua. The route will reserve them the last challenges,  the decisive ones to decree the winner. Starting from Rimini, they will compete with the dreaded Meldola timed  trials, passing from Faenza, guests of the Formula 1 Alpha Tauri team. The Piazza Ariostea arena will be the glance  that Ferrara reserves to the participants. It is the time to return to Mantua, crossing through the Bondeno and Revere  stamp checks. The lunch break will be served at the millenary castle of Castel d’Ario, birth place of Tazio Nuvolari, it  could not be otherwise on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the birth. Then finally the arrival in Mantova, after  1.100 km, between the welcoming walls of Piazza Sordello.
