Mantua - 16th/19th September 2010 - The 20th NUVOLARI GRAND PRIX is at the starting line and will be held from Thursday 16th (for the sporting and technical checks) to Sunday 19th September, organized by the racing stable Scuderia Mantova Corse in collaboration with the Tazio Nuvolari Museum and the Automobile Club of Mantua.

Selected from more than 350 applications, which sets an absolute record, 310 teams will be taking part in the second regularity race in the world, in terms of number of teams and distance covered, and the first one in terms of technical difficulties and the number of time trials.

The fact that half of the entrants come from abroad underlines the International attraction of the Mantua race, with numerous European but also Japanese, Australian, American, Argentinean and Russian contestants who will fight for the title over a distance of a thousand kilometres, in a harsh test for the cars and the drivers’ skills.

Founded in 1954 to mark the death of the great Tazio Nuvolari, who had passed away in Mantua on 11th July the previous year, the Grand Prix was transformed into a commemoration in 1991 and its roll of honour can boast of illustrious names, including Ascari, Moss, Jenkinson, Castellotti, Gendebien and Washer.

The coast-to-coast route is very much appreciated, with the Nuvolari Grand Prix touching both the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Adriatic, going through the most picturesque corners of Italy.
