Gran Premio Nuvolari 2019: one month left to register
07/01/2019
Mantova, 1st July 2019
– Entries for the 29h modern edition of the Gran Premio Nuvolari are coming from all over the world. From the 20th to the 22nd of September, the international world of classic cars will converge in Mantua - the town in which the Gran Premio starts and arrives. Cars of timeless charm will come to celebrate the myth of Tazio Nuvolari: the sportsman who more than anyone else has marked the history of the twentieth century.
With the already confirmed presence of Eberhard & Co., Red Bull and Finservice as Official Partners, the most technical race in Italy warms its engine and prepares to announce important news.
First of all, a largely renovated route. Mantova, the birthplace of the "Great Nivola", will remain the focus of the event, but the renewed itinerary will allow competitors to enjoy the scenic roads of Lake Garda, a pearl of the Italian tourism, as well as the usual beauties of Emilia Romagna, Marche, Tuscany and Umbria. A further news concerns the transit of the Gran Premio for the famous Imola Racetrack, where an exciting series of timed tests will be set up on the last day of the event, decisive for the final classification.
Palazzo Ducale (in Piazza Sordello, at the heart of Mantova), will be the fascinating background of the start of the race, which will take place on Friday 20th September at 11 am. On the first day of the event, the competitors will follow the Garda route, to arrive to the Golf Club of Marciaga for the lunch break, and to proceed then trough the Po Valley and the Appennines towards Bologna, where the arrival is scheduled in the late afternoon. “Fico”, the world largest food park that embodies the Italian culinary tradition, is the innovative and prestigious location that will host the inaugural dinner.
On Saturday 21st September, the cars will cross the unique sceneries of central Italy (like the famous passes of Futa, Raticosa and Viamaggio, Piazza del Campo in Siena and Piazza Grande in Arezzo), having lunch among the cypress trees of Borgo Scopeto, to reach the finish line in Piazza Tre Martiri in Rimini at the end of the day. In the evening, the Gala dinner will be held in the unique setting of the Grand Hotel of Rimini. On Sunday 22nd September, the crews will head back to Mantua. They will experience the chrono trials of Meldola and the passage from Faenza, as guests of the Scuderia Toro Rosso. Then they will face the new trials of Ferrara, in Piazza Trento and Trieste, and the adrenalinic experience at the Imola Racetrack. Finally, they will return in time to Mantua for the usual closing lunch at Palazzo Ducale.
Requirements and deadline for registrations
The registrations will be open until July 31st and shall exclusively be made on the website www.gpnuvolari.it.
