GRAND PRIX NUVOLARI IN MONTENERO GOES BACK TO TAZIO’S TRACKS
The historical stage is ready for the 20th edition of the race

Mantua - 20th May 2010 - Montenero circuit is the protagonist of the 20th edition of Gran Premio Nuvolari, the reliability trail organized by Mantova Corse in cooperation with Tazio Nuvolari Museum and Automobile Club Mantova, from Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th September.

Theatre of many races in the time of Grand Prix - forefather of Formula 1, the competition held here from 1927 to 1939 was called Coppa Ciano. In 1937 Montenero race became the Italian Gran Prix, according to the willing of the fascist party leader Galeazzo Ciano, and the best racing car drivers of that period participated.

Tazio Nuvolari won here five times and one of the bends took his name. Montenero circuit is very difficult: it is necessary to have a perfect car and to be very good at driving. According to an old legend, the flying Mantuan once ran here in a plaster cast with his great Alfa Romeo. In the same Montenero Circuit, along a series of curves between sea and woods, 300 teams from all over the world are having fun with this great challenge.

Exclusively Cars built between 1919 and 1969 can be admitted to the Gran Premio Nuvolari. Vehicles must have F.I.V.A. passport or F.I.A. heritage or A.S.I. homologation or C.S.A.I. fiche or must belong to a brand historical register.

Partners of the event are the Municipalities of Mantua, Arezzo, Ferrara, Livorno, Parma, Pisa, Rimini and Siena, District of Mantua, Lombardy Region, Italian Senate and AIDO. Historic sponsors are Audi, Eberhard & Co., Etiqueta Negra, Mol-Ies and Siglacom.
