Engines are warming up for the international automotive event that celebrates the legendary Tazio Nuvolari every year
09/12/2023
Milan, 12th September 2023 -
Little time left until the 33rd edition of the Gran Premio Nuvolari
, the international regularity event for historic cars which from
14th to 17th September will bring together in Mantua, in Piazza Sordello
, gentlemen drivers from all over the world with their fascinating vintage cars to honor the memory of the "
Great Nivola
", a timeless icon and legendary sportsman who wrote some of the most important pages in the
history of motoring of the 20th century
.
This year's
edition
will be even more exciting and full of novelties. Along a
route of 1,130 km
through the wonderful central-northern regions of Italy and their evocative views, the crews will cross
Lombardy, Emilia Romagna, Marche, Tuscany and Umbria
.
As per a consolidated thirty-year tradition,
the first race number
will symbolically be reserved for the greatest driver of all time,
the legendary Tazio Nuvolari
. The caravan will be led by a group of modern GTs, followed by 275 historic cars
from all continents
, representing
49 car manufacturers
- from the Italian Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Lancia, Ferrari and Fiat, to the English Jaguar, Aston Martin, Bentley and Triumph, to the German Mercedes, BMW and Porsche, up to the French pursang designed by Ettore Bugatti. This year there will be more than 100 pre-war cars (manufactured from 1932 to 1939) taking part in the event.
The presence of numerous cars from the 1950s is also significant
: there will be 150 participants who will race with Ferrari, Jaguar and Porsche cars from those years.
Together with the precious cars, it will also be possible to meet the
best top drivers in the category
, from Alberto Aliverti, winner of the last edition of GP Nuvolari, to Vesco, Passanante, Turelli, Fontanella, Di Pietra and Sisti, just to name a few.
It will also be an opportunity to celebrate the return of Alessandro Gamberini, who has just recovered from a major accident in the summer of 2022
.
The sporting legend of the Great Tazio is always strong and present, and relives every year with renewed passion through the Gran Premio, thanks to the participants who share the emotions of an extraordinary journey aboard true masterpieces of history, mechanics and design.
This 33rd edition features the confirmed partners
Red Bull, Banca Generali, Finservice Group
, to which are added the collaborations with the auction house

Organized by
Mantova Corse
, the event will take place in compliance with F.I.A, F.I.V.A., A.S.I. and A.C.I. Sport regulations, with particular attention to the safety protocols launched by national and international sports
With sensitivity towards environmental protection, the "
Gran Premio Nuvolari Green
" initiative will be proposed
again this year
, an important ecological action carried out with the patronage of the Municipality
of Mantua: the environmental impact caused by the circulation of historic cars - in terms of CO2 emissions - will be compensated by planting tall trees in selected areas of the town.
