EXPECTATION IS RISING AROUND THE 29° EDITION OF THE GRAN PREMIO NUVOLARI
Drivers and enthusiasts from all over the world are already looking forward to it

The formula of the event
Mantua, 24th May 2019 - In 2019 the Gran Premio Nuvolari celebrates 29 years, and Mantova Corse is proud of this goal. Born in 1954 thanks to the founding fathers of the Mille Miglia, who kept the memorial to the "flying Mantuan" up until 1957 in its speed formula, today the Gran Premio Nuvolari is a regularity race for historic cars that takes place successfully on the third weekend of every September since 1991, the year in which Mantova Corse had the idea of reviving the event dedicated to the Great Tazio.

An internationally appreciated appointment
With the already confirmed presence of Eberhard & Co. and Red Bull as official partners, the Gran Premio Nuvolari will be one of the most awaited events of the international sporting season. As in previous editions, hundreds of Italian and foreign crews will meet in Mantua. The appointment for all the enthusiasts is from 19th to 22nd September 2019

The 2019 route
The edition of this year will be marked by many news: Mantova, the birthplace of the "Great Nivola", will remain the focus of the event, but the renewed itinerary will allow competitors to enjoy the scenic roads of Lake Garda, a pearl of the Italian tourism, as well as the usual beauties of Emilia Romagna, Marche, Tuscany and Umbria.

Palazzo Ducale (in Piazza Sordello, at the heart of Mantova), will be the fascinating background of the start of the race, which will take place on Friday 20th September at 11 am. The event will open with the first timed trials on the moraine hills of Mantua. Then, competitors will follow the Garda route, to arrive to the Golf Club of Marciaga for the lunch break, among beautiful olive trees. Later, they will cross the Adige valley and the roads of Emilia, finally arriving in Bologna. “Fico”, the world largest food park that embodies the wonders of Italian biodiversity and culinary tradition, is the innovative and prestigious location that will host the inaugural dinner.

On Saturday 21st September, after the departure from Bologna, competitors will drive along the State Road 65, transiting from the famous Appenine passes of the Raticosa and Futa. Then, they will follow through the Florentine countryside and the Chianti hills, finally arriving in Siena for the usual embrace with the classic cars enthusiasts in Piazza del Campo. After an idyllic break in Borgo Scopeto, in the afternoon, the crews will drive along the Marecchiese Street, reaching the finish line in Piazza Tre Martiri in Rimini. In the evening, the Gala dinner will be held in the unique setting of the Grand Hotel of Rimini.

On Sunday 22nd September, the crews will head back to Mantua.  Starting from Rimini, the competitors will experience the chrono trials of Meldola and the passage from Lugo and Faenza, as guests of the Scuderia Toro Rosso. Then they will proceed with a “classic” step: the trials of Ferrara, at Circuito Ariosteo, among local enthusiasts. Lastly, the cars will cross Borgofranco, the town of truffle, and Ostiglia, homeland to Cornelio Nepote, and they will arrive in Piazza Sordello, greeted by the enthusiast public, in time for the closing lunch at Palazzo Ducale
