Gran Premio Nuvolari: Press Conference 14 September 2013, 11.00 a.m., Mantua

Mantua, 14 September 2013 -
The Tazio Nuvolari Museum today hosted the presentation of the 27th edition of the famous event for vintage and historical cars: held every year in memory of the great racing driver from Mantua, it has now become a fixed appointment in the diaries of Italian and international drivers. The organisers - Mantova Corse, ACI Mantova and the Tazio Nuvolari Museum - presented the list of 250 participants and illustrated this year’s new features.
Mantua is gearing up to welcome the 27th edition of the Nuvolari Grand Prix, the vintage car event awaited every year not just by its host city, but by all car enthusiasts: devoted to the legendary “Flying Mantuan”, the epitome of the champion racing car driver, the competition is not only a sporting event, but also a cultural and social get-together that combines the competition with encouraging a deeper appreciation of the Italian countryside.
The three organisers, Marco Marani, Luca Bergamaschi and Claudio Rossi, founder members of Mantova Corse, illustrated the unusual features along the route, anticipating what promised to be the highlights of the days, and published the list of participants: more than 250 teams have entered, including significant numbers from abroad. In addition to Italy as the host nation, the countries with the largest delegations will be Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands, although it is also worth noting that the event has attracted entries from Japan, Australia, Argentina, the United States, France, Spain, the UK, Austria, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Monaco and San Marino.
Commenting on this,
Marco Marani stated
: “We are very satisfied about the high number of crews: the results obtained in this particular period of crisis are the results of a great passion. We can proudly claim to be able to create a global event with the purpose of honoring the memory of the Grande Nivola taking in the foreground a path that is able to enhance the landscape aspects that only our great Italy can offer".
The support of a prestigious array of partners has once again been confirmed for this edition: Audi Italia, Eberhard & Co. and Etiqueta Negra are back, now joined by Banca Generali as the Welcome Partner.
The 27th edition will take place from 19 to 22 September 2013, as a fixture in the calendars of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (F.I.A.), the Fédération Internationale Vehicules Anciens (F.I.V.A.), the Commissione Sportiva Automobilistica Italiana (C.S.A.I.) and the Automotoclub Storico Italiano (A.S.I.).
Make sure you are there on Friday 20 September at 1.00 p.m. in Piazza Sordello, when the race starts.
